Early Childhood Education
Welcome to Ms. Rose's Website! I am the teacher of the Sophomore Early Childhood students as well as I am responsible for teaching the morning preschool class. The sophomore Early Childhood curriculum is broken down into two parts; an Early Childhood Curriculum course and a lab preschool teaching experience. In the Curriculum course, the Early Childhood students are taught through a mutli-sensory approach how to plan and prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that are suitable for use with preschool children. In addition, the ability to manage one's time is constantly emphasized. The Early Childhood students then transfer what they have learned over to the preschool lab, always under the direction of certified teacher and papraprofessional.
At the end of the sophomore year, students are then responsible highlighting their curriculum work in a portfolio. Those students that meet the competencies and eligibilty requirements at the end of the sophomore may be considered for an "externship placement" during their junior year at NAEYC accredited daycare centers located in the City of Worcester.
