Finance and Marketing
Welcome to the Finance and Marketing Freshmen website. I am Andrea Deane, the Exploratory/Freshmen shop instructor. I am also one of the DECA advisors.
As you navigate our site, please view the school store link for featured products or visit us at the Eagles Nest located on the first floor just past the Main Office. Hours of operations are Mon-Fri, 9a.m. - 1p.m. We accept cash and personal checks. We do not accept credit or debit cards. You may also view links for the State Marketing Frameworks and DECA.
Our first year trade curriculum is designed in conjunction with the Marketing State Frameworks and encompasses an introduction to Marketing, Financial Record Keeping, Business Math and School Store Operations. The Freshmen Shop Exploratory Cycle ends near the mid-point of the second marking period.
Upon enrollment in the trade, and throughout the last half of the second marking period, freshmen begin classroom instruction in the Frameworks based curriculum. They also begin peer-directed, job shadow rotations in the Eagles Nest School Spirit Store. The sophomore, junior and senior level students assist in hands-on school store training including sales, customer service, cash register operations and inventory management.
Beginning in the third marking period, the Eagles Nest becomes a retail operation soley run and managed by the freshmen! Students begin managerial rotations in which they will receive advanced cash register training, assist in staff scheduling, and participate in the buying, merchandising and display process.
Freshmen are also afforded the opportunity to participate in DECA, our co-curricular, nationwide organization of Marketing students.
